China grants ABTC holders a 60-day visa-free business stay and accepts the card at all ports of entry. It publishes no list of which of its own ports carry a signposted APEC lane, and the familiar claim that lanes exist only at Beijing Capital and Shanghai Pudong traces to a 2007 document no current source confirms. Lanes are instead evidenced in 2025-2026 at Guangzhou Baiyun, Zhengzhou, Zhanjiang and Shenzhen.
APEC's 'ABTC Economy Entry Information' table records the PRC under Ports of Entry as 'All Ports', so entry validity is not restricted to a designated subset. The 'only Beijing and Shanghai' claim is about where a signposted lane stood in 2007, not where the card works. No Chinese government source was found restricting ABTC entry to named ports. source
China is a fully participating ABTC member; all 21 APEC economies participate, and only Canada and the United States are transitional members, which offer fast-track lanes but no pre-clearance. The card admits you at every port of entry. These are the airports where a dedicated lane is documented — arriving anywhere else simply means the ordinary queue.
| Airport | IATA | APEC lane | Source & currency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guangzhou Baiyun International AirportGuangzhou · T2 (international arrivals hall) | CAN | Arrivals onlyA September 2026 news feature describes an ABTC holder using the signposted APEC Business Travel Card channel in the T2 international arrivals hall, cleared in under a minute. The account is a news report rather than an official notice, and the lane is evidenced on arrivals only. | Reported only Added sincesource |
| Zhengzhou Xinzheng International AirportZhengzhou | CGO | Departures onlyZhengzhou's municipal foreign affairs office reports that APEC card lanes cover the full departure chain at Xinzheng: check-in, border inspection and, since 2 November 2023, security screening. It is the only known account of an APEC lane at the security stage, and it notes that APEC lane facilities at Chinese airports are generally incomplete. | Government source Added sincesource |
| Zhanjiang Wuchuan International AirportZhanjiang · international departure hall | ZHA | Not confirmedAdmitted here; whether a lane exists is unestablishedZhanjiang's municipal government and its immigration inspection station confirmed in May 2026 that ABTC holders get expedited clearance through the border inspection special channel. There is no dedicated APEC-branded lane: a signposted APEC card lane was still only under discussion, so this is access to a shared channel. | Government source Added sincesource 1 source 2 |
| Shenzhen Bao'an International AirportShenzhen | SZX | Arrivals onlyA May 2026 report describes a Mexican traveller entering Shenzhen through the dedicated channel on a passport and ABTC. Shenzhen is the APEC 2026 host city and much of its channel activity is summit-delegate infrastructure, so no source establishes that the lane is permanent beyond the summit. | Reported only Added sincesource 1 source 2 |
| Beijing Capital International AirportBeijing | PEK | Lane presentEvery circulating list names Beijing, on the strength of the March 2007 APEC summary listing Beijing International Airport, which in 2007 meant Capital, as Daxing did not open until 2019. No source dated 2020 or later confirms a dedicated ABTC lane there, so treat it as plausible but unverified. | Reported only 2007 recordsource 1 source 2 |
| Shanghai Pudong International AirportShanghai | PVG | Lane presentEvery circulating list names Pudong, on the strength of the March 2007 APEC summary. No source dated 2020 or later confirms a dedicated ABTC lane there, and Shanghai's foreign affairs office speaks only generically of dedicated lanes at major airports without naming a Shanghai facility. Plausible but unverified. | Reported only 2007 recordsource 1 source 2 source 3 |
Every widely published ABTC airport list descends from one APEC document whose data is from March 2007. These are the points where that document no longer describes China.
5 China airports have a documented APEC Business Travel Card lane: Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN), Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (CGO), Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX), Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG).
Yes. China admits cardholders at all ports of entry. A dedicated lane only exists at some of them, but the card itself works everywhere — arriving at an airport without a lane simply means joining the ordinary queue.
China is a full participating member, so a valid card bearing its code on the reverse grants pre-cleared entry — business visa.. Stays are capped at 60 days per visit.

Every row above was verified against a live source on that date, and each carries the kind of source it rests on. Lane locations, terminal assignments and designated-port lists change without announcement — confirm anything you are about to travel on. Not confirmed: No official Chinese list of which mainland ports carry an ABTC lane was found. Checked: nia.gov.cn, the MFA consular ABTC pages, and foreign affairs offices for Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and ten other cities, all of which describe the scheme generically. No evidence was found for Beijing Daxing, Shanghai Hongqiao, Chengdu, Xiamen or Hangzhou. Lane provision is decentralised to individual border-inspection stations, so unpublished lanes may exist. source
